I waited a long time to order a nice sewing machine. I haven't sewn in 26 years and when your website recommended I purchase this book with the Athena machine, I did. I was very, very disappointed. The items in it are things I would see for sale at the Senior Center, being made and used by the seniors. Cute for them.....not so much for me. I sent it back and chalked it up to a lesson learned.

I was very unhappy with this book. For what is provided, it was to expensive with silly ideas. Not at all what I expected.

I have many sewing books but I find that I keep returning to this book. The projects are simple and most importantly, for me, they are quick. I have made several of the large totes. I am hoping for a new book from the master of sewing.

I have been sewing for 50 years this book is so usefull I loooove it I look forward to making everything in the book and passing the book onto my daughter, Thank You Darlene please write another book. Eileen

I was very disappointed with this book I thought it would have more sewing items like the ones she show on TV. I think the items are items that know one wants to make except the finged blanket. Very disappointed.

I'm a very novice sewer and I was pleased to find a book with simple projects and great instructions...and awesome pictures. This will help me to go beyond these projects and sew more things. A great variety of items are listed. Thanks so much.

I gave this as a simple how to book for my 9 year old grandaughter along with a Euro-Pro sewing Machine. it was the nicest thing I could do for her as I cna not be ther to guide her along in her sewing. she said the book was very good and now has things to make in a simple way with her mommy. I thibk the book will help her be proud and succesful in her new sewing skills. thanks for the book

This a book for beginning sewers, people that have never sewn a stitch in their life and is considering taking a sewing class. Save your money and buy this book! Its also good for someone like myself that hadn't sewn in 20 years. Tips and tricks I had forgotten, the book brought back to memory. In six weeks I've made several things from it like the duvet cover and shams, purse, place mats, and the rice bag as a gift for a friend. I recently purchased a pattern to make some gloves and was so disappointed that the instructions weren't clear and easy like Darlene's book! Darlene should really consider starting her own pattern company, in the interim I look forward to her next book and video.

This is the most basic of instructions for people that have little to no sewing experience.
It might deserve a higher rating than I am giving it? My rating is based on what I had hoped it would have.
What I had hoped for is more technical information for us that own EuroPro's that the instructions given with the machiens lack. I had heard Darlene say many times on air (when callers asked for this) say that better instructions and a possibly even a video were forthcoming.
I really hope Darlene does come out with a more detailed book AND video for the EuroPro sewing machines and Sergers. I spent a lot of money at Amazon.com recently buying books to understand my new EuroPro serger.
