This machine works great. I didn't think it was noisy at all like the other reviews and the pause was only a couple of seconds, which is no big deal. The needle does go up when you stop sewing, but you can always turn the wheel down if you want the needle to stay put. The only real problem I had is working the threader, other than that, it sews beautifully and I would highly recommend it ...

I have sewn since childhood. I almost didn't order the machine due to the reviews regarding the noise and the pause in restarting. I received it today. I don't think it is noisy at all. I see what the pause is, but is was nothing troublesome. My only annoyance would be the needle always goes to the up postion when you release the foot pedal, which is what I think causes the delay. I prefer my needle in the fabric when I stop sewing. I tried all the stitches and am very pleased with it.

I recieved this machine over a year ago, and due to moving twice in a years time, I have only had the opportunity to use it a couple of times. But I still know that I love it. I used it to put my name and decorative borders on a denim apron that I made. It is really wonderful, and as soon as I'm all set up here, I can't wait to start sewing with it again. :-)

I received my singer a couple of weeks ago. I haven't sewn in 30 years and was a little worried I'd forgotten most of what I learned then. I sat down and read the manual and then began winding the bobbin and threading the machine. The manual was very well written and easy to follow. The machine itself is very well made and came with just about every foot you could imagine Great job HSN. I would recommend this item to anyone.

I am a quilter, and this machine does not have a needle down feature that surprised me with all the other functionality it has. My biggest problem is with the presser foot... there a delay when you stop and try to start again. VERY FRUSTRATING! I just read the other review about calling Singer... I will try that and hopefully they can help resolve the issue.

I recently purchased this machine. I LOVE.LOVE.Love IT!!!!!
Been taking more classes and having a ball working on my wardrobe and holiday gifts!! Great price point for anyone that is just getting their feet wet and want to do "some" embroidery. No hassels with downloading designs, etc.

From the first time I stepped on the presser foot I knew I was in for problems. When you stop stitching, it will not start again without a delay. FRUSTRATING!! I purchased this machine for my daughter and saved it for her birthday or it would have been returned. Now we are stuck with this thing. I would much rather have heard the truth from the demonstrator and I would have invested in a higher quality machine.

I received this machine last Christmas as a gift. I enjoy using it, but also had problems with a "sticky" foot pedal. Singer Customer Service is extremely helpful, and they are sending me a new one. I just printed out my order from HSN and sent it to them. Remember, this machine has a very good warranty from Singer Corp. Also, I would have appreciated a needle down stop option. I figured with all the extras this came with, that would be included.

I just received my machine about a week ago and it is fabulous. Have not tried all the stitches but what I have tried works beautiful. The stitches are excellent.

I had such a blast sewing away on this machine and my quilt was finished in a flash. It was so easy to use! The stitching quality is excellent! I've decorated several t-shirts and created some quilted tote bags as well. I've sewn for the past 28 years and this machine is a great little work horse! The only thing I'd add to this machine would be a button to choose needle up/down when sewing.

I hate this machine. Wish I had returned it. I tried sewing with it and when I stop, I can't just start right back up, have to wait then start. It doesn't have a needle down function. When I stop I can't even use my presser foot to have the needle stop in the down position, it just automatically has the needle up. It's really awful trying to do precise sewing or machine quilting when you need to have the needle to stay in the down position. Never will I buy another Singer.

I have nothing but trouble with this machine. It has an automatic button holer but when I used it and then tried to go back to strait stitching the computer kept telling me I need to put the lever back up. I did several times. I am also irritated that the controler foot sticks. I can either go really slow or I can go really fast there is no in between. I really wish I had sent this one back.

I love my new sewing machine. It is very easy to use, and being able to change the stitch just by touching it is fantastic. I have already tried quilting with it and it goes through the layers like a champ. I have not yet used the zipper attachment or the buttonhole maker, but I trust they will work as well as the basics. I am very pleased with this sewing machine.

It's so slow. Maybe it's good for people who are just learning how to sew but for me it's way to slow. What makes this even worse the pedal starts with some kind of delay. When I need to pause my sewing I have to wait about 2 seconds for the pedal to adjust and start sewing again. I like the stitches but for 400 bucks no way I'm keeping this machine. I prefer my 10 year old simplicity, no fancy stitches but so much better.

I absolutely love this machine.The features are very easy to use and turn out so beautiful. I definitely recommend this machine to anybody looking to purchase a sewing machine. It is simple and the versatility is only limited to your imagination. I was looking to purchase a computerized sewing machine so when this came out as a Today's Special I was ecstatic.

I have wanted a new machine for a long time. I have a 25 yr. old singer and I decided for the price I would try this one. it is noisy or at least more than my other latest machine of another brand but the ease of threading and winding the bobbin,etc. is wonderful. The stitches are very nice, uniform and precise. The extras are a plus. I want to use the machine and try out all the fun things it has. Nice machine and a great price. Good for beginner or more advanced. Easy pay is wonderful!!!

I JUST BOUGHT THIS MACHINE.IT IS VERY LOUD. I CALLED BUT NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW IF IT IS NORMAL FOR IT TO BE SO LOUD.. I AM HOPING IT WILL BE AGOOD MACHINE.IF ONLY IT WAS QUITER!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just received this machine ..i originally bought the singer with the 80 stitch function. really liked it for the first couple of days and then had problems with the foot pedal.. it would bind up so that you didnt get a smooth transition speed..i sent it back and opted for this one instead..Oh how glad i am that i switched because this machine is awesome .. my 7 year old grandson has been having a ball with all the lettering and decorative stitches ..i cant get him away from it thank you

im sewing machine operator and i sew all kind of clothes include underwear, i recommend to everyone before sew to know the sewing machune first, some buyers leave bad reviws about the manual and i belive the manual is not a sewing school, please be patient and you will be an expert sewing machine operator like ME,,,sorry i can't write well ENGLISH and speak too

First of all, I am stunned at how quiet this machine is! UNBELIEVABLE! The stitch selection is incredible. I love the ease of changing stitches, and width and length. This is my first drop in bobbin, and I love it. It's great to be able to see how much thread is left on the bobbin without having to dismantle the machine. What an addition to my life! Great job Singer, and HSN!
