not so good
falls down when trying to use hose
when I collapse to use under the table it won't stand up without putting my foot on vacuum

I purchased this so called machine a while back and I too was happy with the performance..........UNTIL one day while using it it decides to shut itself off. After taking things apart and trying to figure out if maybe a connection came loose somewhere...I decided to pull out the manual and read. It states in there that this machine has a so-called "safety" feature that keeps it from over-heating therefore it will turn itself off. You must unplug and wait 30 minutes for it to re-set it self. I HATE IT!!!! I can't even get thru one full room of cleaning before it turns off. What a waste of money on what could otherwise be a good machine!!!!

So far this is pretty awesome. I have a wool rug that looks brand new now thanks to this vacuum. It's light weight and easy to clean out. I love all of the attachments that come with it.

I didn't like it at all so i tried to dis-assemble it, but couldn't. The handle snaps in and you can't undo it. I called HSN and they gave me the number to Hoover. Hoover said if it was the model in which the handle snaps in you cannot take it apart. I then asked her how i was going to ship it back to HSN if I couldn't get it back in the box. Hoover replied that i needed to find a bigger box...Thank goodness i found an old infant car seat box. I'm very disappointed.

Unit falls over a lot, and is unbalanced. the neck feels wobbly as you push and pull through carpet, but it seems to do a good job of cleaning. The canister is a touch akward to use.

I LOVE THIS VAC. AND THE LITTLE MINY VAC ATTACHMENT IS SO AWESOME,,BUT THE EMPTYING THAT I HATE,,IT IS NOT AS EASY AS ON TV,,WHEN ITS FILLED WITH EVERYDAY STUFF AND REAL PET HAIR AND FUZZYS,,IT IS ALITTLE BIT OF TROUBLE GETTING IT OUT,,BUT ITS NOT BAD ENOUGH TO SEND BACK,,I AM HANDICAPPED AND I CAN HANDLE IT,,AND IT IS ALITTLE HEAVIER THAN THEY LEAD ON,,BUT I CAN HANDLE THAT TOO,,BUT I WANT TO KEEP IT REAL,,GET IT,,REALLY IT IS GREAT FOR PICKING UP THAT STUCK ON FUZZYS OR THE DOG HAIR THAT IS STUCK TO THE ORIENTAL RUG!,,IT IS GREAT,

I purchased this product like 1 1/2 yrs ago, and loved my machine. Probably one of the best Vacuums i have ever owned, But, the motor burned out, and not too pleased with that. i have had other vacuums and they have lasted 5 + yrs. This one will cost 150 to fix. You might want to reconsider. Cleans great, but does not last very long.

I just received and used the Hoover PowerMax and was very impressed with it. Easy to assemble and left my carpets very clean. The dog hair came up easily and left the carpets looking great. The telescoping handle does work easily on my vacuum. After reading other reviews, I'm hoping that this vacuum will last because I really like it. It does topple over when using the attachments, but if it is positioned correctly, it will not topple over. Even my 11 yr old son loved vacuuming the furniture where our dog sleeps. The pet fur came up so easily and the furniture looked great!

I read most of the reviews and noted comment: "...does not clean good on wood floors." That is because this model does not come with a floor brush attachment. However, if you want to pay an additional $25.00 for your wood/tile floors go to Hoover's website and order the floor brush attachment and an additional wand which I did. Item numbers are listed in the Owner's Manual but the prices have gone up slightly and the wand item number has been replaced by a new number. I did call Hoover first to make sure the floor attachment fits this model. Also as other reviewers have stated the handle does not telescope for me either. I mentioned that to the gal when I called Hoover and she gave me a local service center contact to help me. I am tall so I don't know yet if I care if it doesn't telescope! My main concern is cleaning my dog hairy floors! For those of us who are determined to make this work, an idea for top-heaviness might be to remove attachments on unit before use?

Needs to be balanced better, always falling over when I use the wand. First one was defective, Ok with dog hair, shipping to return not worth it. Does not deserve Hoover name, get what we pay for. Not all HSN purchases are a deal.

I was impressed with my first use, and would compare it to the job done by my daughter's Dyson. I love the self-propelled feature, and the fact that it came ready to use. I have berber carpeting, so I guess there is no real challenge, but this machine did an excellent job so far.

This worked great but now the cyclone doesn't function and it doesn't vacuum ANYTHING up. Don't know what happened but luckily I hadn't thrown out my old vacuum yet. Very disappointed. Guess I need to find a Hoover repair store.

I love this vaccuum ( and so do the kids) It does a very good job only draw back is the messy emptying of the canister. Works great however and does the job.

This item has a handle that stows away. It really did a wonderful job of getting the dirt out of my ivory room size rug. I was impressed with the power and ease of the Hoover PowerMax Fusion Vacuum Cleaner. Good buy.

These are GREAT vacuum's, but they don't last! I just purchased my 4th Hoover PowerMax Fusion... the longest that I've had one of these vacuum's last is about 18 months. In general they are GREAT if you have pets. I've tried other brands and there is no comparison.
While my latest vacuum was under warranty... it was taken into the local repair shop 3 times during the first 12 months. There is a roller part under the vacuum that breaks. This has happened on every one of these vacuum's that I have purchased. Unfortunately after trying various other brands... nothing compares... I opted NOT to purchase the "extended" warranty through HSN... with the cost of shipping, downtime without the vacuum... it's worth it to purchase a new one. Fortunately if they break during the 12 month warranty there are local repair shops in most major cities that repair them. If you have pets look no further! BEST vacuum for pets!

I purchased this vacuum cleaner thinking it would be as amazing as they said it was on HSN. This vacuum is soooo top heavy! When you use the extension pieces it topples over! It has fallen on the back of my heel and my toddler many times! It is horrible on hardwood/tile floors (even on the lowest setting) and it just spits everything it picks up right back out. I can't stand this vacuum and I am very upset I threw away the return box and stickers because I thought it was actually a good vacumm. I guess I was wrong!

I was so excited to receive this product. Unfortunately it didn't perform as expected. It works great on carpet but lousy on hard floors. The bin fills up very quickly. My house is more tile than carpet and it just wasn't going to work, so back it went.

This is to peachy24. My Hoover did the same thing. It kinda went off out of nowhere. The connection is in the handle area in the back of the cleaner. All you have to do is open with a screwdriver and put one drop of a good glue like gorilla glue and connect it. It will stay and you will no longer have that problem. I hope you haven't thrown it out already. My only complaint is that I didn't get the pet hair tool, The upholstery tool.
