I purchase these shoes about 3 months ago and I've worn them several times with socks, I put a bandage on the back of feet to protect them from rubbing, still I have rubbing and it hurts. I'm sorry I didn't send them back. And they are heavy and stiff.

These are going back. I wish I would have read the reviews first.
They rub the back of my heels, I can't see them ever getting broke-in.

I ordered the brown leather regardless to the negative reviews and I tried them on without socks and could understand why previous review would say they could/would rub the heel or ankle but trying on with socks really seem to help and for under $20.00 I give these shoes 4 stars! If you only want to wear these earth shoes without socks then I wouldn't purchase, but if you don't mind wearing socks give them a try!

I really wanted these to work, at least only one shoe rubbed the back of my ankle raw! Otherwise good shoes! SS I had to return them!

I found these shoes very stiff,heavy, and they also rubbed blisters on the back of my heels the first day I wore them.I have worn them several times and they remain as stiff now they just don't seem to get softer with wear. I wish I would have sent them back

I normally wear an 8-8.5 I first order these shoes in a 7.5 following the other reviews & they were too small then I ordered an 8.5 too big finally size 8 became available an they were just right I have only worn these shoes to work where I do an some running around, some standing but mainly sitting doing data entry & taking phone calls I have had no problems to date So I am going to stay cautiously optimistic that these shoes will work out well

Wish I had sent these back. They were OK - except for the backs. Yes, I had blisters, too. The back is too high and stiff. Bad news. Will try to use pads or something so that I can wear the shoes. What a waste.

Received these shoes; loved the styling. However, I wore them for three hours; they rubbed and blistered my heel to the extent that it took three weeks to heal. Still have the scars after two months. What on "earth" was the designer/manufacturer thinking! Where was the quality control? I usually love the Earth brand and very disappointed with the fit of these.

JUST RECEIVED THESE LAST FRIDAY. I ORDERED THE BLK AND MAHOGANY. I WORE THE BLACK HERE AROUND THE HOUSE AND THE THE END OF THE DAY THE BACK OF MY HEEL WAS BLEEDING. IT CAUSED BLISTERS. I ALSO ORDERED THE NICE SOCKS TO WEAR WITH THE SHOES. AND STILL GOT BLISTERS. NOW I AM USING A TRIPLE ANTIBIOTIC OINTMENT. SORRY BUT THEY ARE GOING BACK.THEY TRULY ARE VERY NICE MARY JANE SHOES.

i have just ordered 4 pairs i also called the company for some info. these shoes do not bend they are tight my arches hurt and feet burn, and i bought a 1/2 size larger, very disappointed in them. i thought my feet needed to get use to higher quality shoes but i am not sure, definately going to take them off. tooo bad!!! anyone else having these problems?

This is a nice looking, well-made show but for one thing - the strap isn't tight enough so that the heel flip flops off my foot as I walk. and I orderd 1/2 size down.. too bad the strap doesn't adjust.. haven't decided whether to keep them because of this one problem but for under $40 - what a deal!

I went by the other reviews and ordered a size down. I normally wear a 10 and ordered 9-1/2. However, I just recently had to wear orthotics in my heels, so they were way too tight. The toe bar area is somewhat narrow also. I'm not sure if I'll try another size or not (sigh), as I don't want to have to send them back also, but they are cute shoes. I have other Earth shoes and love them.

I put these shoes on and took them right off to be returned. They were extremely tight in the toebox, and I knew I would never make it through the day with them. Too bad.

Sizing is way off. I ordered true to size and was too large, also I ordered BROWN and received the mahogany. Sad to say brown is sold out in my size. Would have been 5* if size and color was correct.

If you order this shoe online using the number 2 pull-down menu, the "select color" shows mahogany as the nubuck suede upper. I did not discover until I received the shoes that mahogany is in fact the leather shoe, which it does state further down in the description, but I missed that entirely. For that reason, I returned the shoes.

footbed was very comfortable. but like the others the heel was too high and caused a blister. will have to send it back. went to an earth shoe store found one with a lower heel... and it was very comfortable. just need to search for the right style.

I looked forward to receiving these shoes as I will be traveling in Canada and Alaska and needed a good quality shoe that would be tough enough for the weather but still provide a good look. Unfortunately, the fit just didn't work. I wear an 8.5 so I ordered an 8. The shoes were still too big and very wide and similar to the other reviewer, within a minute of having them on realized they were going to tear up the back of my heels. So they are going back and my search will continue.

I bought 3 pairs as I have plantar fasciitis (damaged arch). The foot bed is heaven on earth (can feel 3.7 degree incline), but only after 10 mins of walking, the heel grip was chafing my skin at back of my heels. After taking off shoes at end of day, I had blisters on the back of my heels. Unless I wear heel grips or band aids every day, I will be unable to wear these again. I am disappointed as foot bed is best I have experienced. Will give it another go w/heel grips.
