Bought this product earlier this year.Worked fine initially.Was able to test burn a dvd converted from VHS TAPES before deciding to keep it.Had good help from the customer service rep who helped us set up the JVC.After 4 months of use,would not burn or even play any DVD/cds.Would not play the cleaner CD the jvc rep suggested to use.IT WAS tested on my computer dvd burner.jvc stated it would cost $65.00 to look at it & this did not include repair & shipping.It only plays VHS TAPES.UNHAPPY!

I can't believe how easy it was! I have used the recorder a few times now and I'm 100% sure anyone who has memories on a VHS would enjoy this! I'm sorry I didn;t order it sooner!

IF YOU HAVE THS RECORDER DO NOT SENT IT BACK! IT IS SO EASY TO SET UP.GET YOURSELF ANOTHER CABLE OF RCA AV JACKS(JUST LIKE THE ONES YOU GOT WITH THE UNIT).HOOK ONE SET OF RCA AV CABLES FROM THE TV TO THE RECORDER AND THE OTHER SET OF RCA AV CABLES FROM THE RECORDER TO YOUR CABLE BOX.YOU ARE ALL SET TO RECORD!JUST REMEMBER AFTER YOU RECORD YOU HAVE TO FINALIZE YOUR CD.THIS JUST IMPRINTS IT AND ALLOWS YOU TO VIEW IT, OTHERWISE YOU WASTE THE DISC AND CANNOT VIEW THE CD.

Love that even though I don't have a HD TV, it seems like you are watching in HD. Even if I don't record, keep it on and makes my TV reception appear to be in HD. Recording old movies never looked so good. Excellent!!! I'm the over 55 age group and not too hard to set this up myself.

HARD TO UNDERSTAND BOOK JUST A FANCY DVD PLAYER SO FAR FO ME EVEN JVC SUPPORT IS HARD TO UNDERSTAND ANYONE WHO HAS DIRECT TV WITH HD BOX LET ME KNOW HOW TO HOOK UP NO ONE ELSE CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This item needed to be presented at the time of showing that it needed a turner. I am not happy that it was a christmas gift. I had purchased it on time payments. Had to send it back and wait for my refund. In the mean time I had to be out of pocket additional money, and spend more for the person that the gift was for. They just need to express this items needs a turner.
Have purchased from HSN many items and will continue to purchase form HSN in the future.

SOME COPY FINE - SOME SAY COPY PROTECTED - I HAVE FOUND A WAY AROUND THIS YET. EASY TO HOOK UP AND USE. OLD MOVIES LOOK GREAT ON HDTV.

Recieved my 1080p Hd DVD?VCR on Thursday. aread the instruction book right away. The hook ups were very easy and I was recording in 25 mins. The recording was very clear. I can convert my VHS tapes to DVD by dubbing as the manuel says. But dont forget to Finalize the tape before Removing. Thank you for making my day.

I love it! It took a little fine tuning but I was up and running in less than an hour. It performs well, produces high quality tapes and dvds. I wpu;d highly recommend it. Now all I have to do is buy a thousand blank dvds...

VCR is garbage. I used it twice and ripped my vcr tapes.
I tried to return it even with an extended warrentee and HSN would not replace it. They said they did not have any and i would have to send it in for repair.

Very pleased with my purchase. I bought it to change over all of my older movies from vhs to dvd. Great Price, Great product, and flex pays...can't beat it. I also made a copy of my son's ultasound that was saved to vhs back in 1990 to a dvd. Works find for my needs. Thanks HSN for a great product!!!

Couldn't wait to get this item, I had movies on my camera from 3 yrs ago when grandson was born so the first thing that I did was to put it all on dvd, and you know what it has payed for it self already...

I agree with all that had a TV problem. You cannot set this unit to record a TV program at a later date and time. Way too complicated for me.I sent it back.

This isn't mentioned on the web site listing or mentioned in the presentations, but there is no tuner in this unit. They say you can record TV with this, which is true IF and only IF you have something with a tuner hooked up in line before this, like a cable or satelite box or even another VCR that does have a tuner in it. I was very disappointed when I got this delivery and saw on the box that it is "tuner free" when nowhere does HSN tell you there is no tuner included. I'm sure the product is good if you don't need a tuner, but if you expect to hook this up to your cable and tv and be able to record live tv (like I did) you are in for a rude surprize.

Easy to set up, quickstart guide easy to follow; not so with the detailed guide book. Pay attention to R and RW discs, editing and titling functions differ deppending on the kind of disc. Suited for dubbing needs from VHS to dvd and from camcorder to dvd. Same item available at another shopping network for higher price, no flex pay (no EASY PAY), and no free SH.

After I purchased this machine, I went online to read the reviews. I was a bit skeptical about my decision however, after looking over my satellite receiver connections, I had no problem in connecting the dvd recorder. It was a breeze in recording live shows and the recording from vhs to dvd.

This seemed like it was going be "so" easy to work. I really wanted to make my VHS tapes into DVDs. I received this item today and I already have it packaged to ship back. There are lots of connections, and the book is WAY confusing.If you have a satellite or cable box it`s even worse. So if you are not a HIGH TECH person, don`t order this! I`d rather pay the return shipping then having $200 worth of stress figuring this out!
