I got this camera on June 20 the day before my daughter's wedding. It took too long to shut the picture and then two months later the camera will no longer take pictures. The screen is copletely black. Dont buy you will regret it later.

I'm pleased with the picture quality, but disappointed with the lag time from when I hit the shutter button to actual shot captured by lens - not the same! As a swim mom, my experience with capturing the perfect Kodak moment was likened to 2 y/o trying to swat a fly - just couldn't get it on the money! Of 30 pics, I captured only 2 above water, the rest were all under water. Lag time of my former Kodak camera (V705) was more efficient.
On the lookout for a better Kodak...

Z1285 selling under item #346-652 and #103-7716. Camera eats batteries like crazy. Also camera kept shutting off. Major shutter lag. Most test action shots I took of my critters came out with the back 1/2 instead of head and body when I shot the picture just before they were where I wanted them in the picture. Picture quality is crisp. I never expected this to stack up against my Canon SLR but I did expect it to stack up to the other point and shoot cameras I have. Sent back.

Battery Life/Recording Time: Standard alkaline batteries will last approx. 2.5 hours. This is what the product description states. I'm finding that my new battery life is only 30 minutes if at that. I also have rechargable batteries that work fine in my Nikon but also go dead within 30 minutes. Camera red light comes on and camera shuts down. Did I just get a lemon? Not so sure if I like this one or not? I recently purchased the Kodak M853 and that camera is great!

Nice Camera. - Very small and compact. But takes great pics and has a nice lens. Haven't had a chance to try video yet but I'm sure it will be great. The carrying case fits the camera perfectly and will protect it nicely. Pick this up if they get it back in stock.
