This little "keeper," which runs either on batteries or regular AC current, is perfect for your boat, camper or anywhere you want to sew or craft. The features that first drew me to this machine are it's size and portability. i actually wanted a machine for work and vacation. we're always sewing hems and touching up our clothes here at the office. also, it's just so convenient NOT to have to take out the big machine all the time just for little projects. i read the reviews but ordered anyway.
A word to Singer...if this machine had been more durable i actually would have paid another $20. i may have even ordered another for home as a little spare.
it's size is perfect! it's adorable!!! i could have tucked it away or carried it with me on vacation. BUT, I tried it and you can tell the foot pedal will fall apart quickly.That part is very cheaply made. i read about issues with the bobbin and unfortunately, it's going back. if they put a little more quality into it...wow what a cute machine to have as a spare for small projects or on the go. SINGER dropped the ball on this one. i'm so disappointed to have to send it back.

I wanted a small machine for touch ups and mending. There was a less expensive machine, but I figured I'd buy the $60 one, that it would have to be better than the $30 machine. I WAS WRONG! Jam after jam after jam, and never completed my first project. I can't believe Singer would put their name on such a product. Very disappointed with Singer and with HSN. HSN, look at the reviews and pull the products that are not worthy.

The product is manufactured incorrectly. The part that hold the needle was installed sideways and causes the sewing machine to jam. This was a chirstmas gift for my 9 year old and it is now June and she is still unable to use it.

My story is simular to the other people who purchases they for a 11 year old daughter. I thought I just happen to get a defective on the first time. They to have to pay for shipping to get another one that is also a piece of junk. They foot pedal stoped working after only 5 minutes of use. I purchased this because I thought Singer was a name you can trust. After the horrible product and poor service this is my first and last purchase from HSN. They can keep their CHEAP JUNK.........

I am extremely disappointed with the quality of this machine. Singer? No way. I got this as a gift for my granddaughter for Xmas, have sent it back and replaced it four times hoping one would work for her - how do you break a 8 year olds heart? Of course, return time has now elapsed and we are stuck with a nonfunctioning piece of junk and a credit card bill. This is my last purchase from HSN.

My husband surprised me with this machine as a gift. It is PERFECT for my love of scrapbooking and card making. I'd never even used a sewing machine before and it took my only about 5 minutes to figure it out. Super easy and works great!

I love this machine for scrapbooking. I have a regular machine for more heavy duty sewing but for simply embellishing my scrapbook pages it is perfect.

I bought this for my 8-year old grandaughter. Supervison by a seasoned sewer, such as myself is important as no detailed sewing lessons are provided. The stitch quality is excellent. Bobbin changing is so easy! The foot pedal is very lightweight which may cause a problem, but we taped it to a box on the floor which helped my grandaughter reach it better anyway, and it stabilized the pedal. Alternately, there is a control on the machine, but my grandaughter prefers the pedal.

I was excited to recieve this and enjoyed it for a while. At first, I had no problems, but now the needle will not stay threaded. I spend more time re-threading than I do sewing. It would be faster for me to sew by hand. Also, the instructions that come with this are quite poor, as is the quality of the accessories. The cheap plastic scissors are bent and the thread is not an even consistency - I can pull it and break it. I always thought Singer was a good name, but my next sewing machine will certainly not be a Singer!! Definitely a waste of money!

Bought this for my grandaughter for Christmas. Foot peddle lasted about 32 days (just long enough not to be able to return) now the machine is junk. Don't waste your money. Cannot find part for it anywhere.

I bought the SINGER PIXIE PLUS for my grand-daughter and we love this machine!!! All the kids sewed on Christmas and the day after - we made scarves for everyone-even for the dogs. The girls sewed blankets and used my pixie to make the edges fancy! They tried every stitch and we had no problem switching. I'm not a seamstress - I just wanted to be able to fix a seam - OUR machine works great - no problem with my foot pedal or my stitching thingy - I am very pleased with this machine I like it.

Like others below, I was excited to put this under the tree for my daughter. She loved it for about 30 minutes before the peddle stopped working. (the electrical connection gets hot enough to melt the plastic inside the peddle). Do a little extra shopping if you want a product with some durability.

After reading the reviews, I can not believe that HSN and Singer continue to sell this product. What a disappointment. I bought this machine for my daughter for Christmas and like the the other reviews the bobbin case broke and would not thread and the foot pedal stoppped working as well. Will be sending it back immediately! Do not waste your money.

We purchased this product for our daughter for Christmas. What a disappointing result. I sent it back to HSN today. It is a terrible sewing machine. The foot pedal is flimsy and the machine design is flawed. It was frustrating for us to try to work with the machine. It would sew a few stitches and then the thread would catch and strip inside the machine. We'd spend the next 15 minutes trying to fix it. I do NOT recommend buying this piece of equipment.

When i first got this machine, i was really excited to begin sewing. The first day my foot pedal broke. A week later the bobbin winder broke. Most frustrating machine ever. I starting sewing for five minutes and end up taking the next hour trying to fix tangles or the bobbin winder.

I was anxious to get the machine. I wanted to take it to my sewing guild, but the bobbin was impossible to thread!! The foot pedal a white substance all over. It went back the next day.

the foot pedal quit after first use and then the bobbin mechanisim completely come apart. I've been sewing for years and could'nt fix it. It's going back today. This is a toy for a child.

this is a nice machine to use for SMALL projects only!! i did some sewing for my daughter's school program and the foot pedal stopped working and the machine came unthreaded after i started the seam. this machine would be good to have on hand to do minor repairs like repairing a hem.
