after seeing the presentation of this bread maker, i was really excited to get it home and start making breads and jellies. I used it three times, using one recipe from the enclosed book and two boxes of bread mixes. All three failed....the bread did not rise and all I got were three lumps of hard dough.
Perhaps it was just my unit that was defective, but I will be returning it for a refund nonetheless.

We bought this over a year ago. Used it a few times Made good hockey pucks using the recipes that came with it. Not new to this. Had 3 other breadmakers. Got it out again a month ago when when came across another breadmaking recipe that used gluten . "We got fantastic results. Best bread ever. Even shape and texture. Not at all heavy. But after 5 loaves, one of the machine's blades rounded out and would no longer engage. Had to order a new set. Was one month out of warranty. If these blades last a while, I'll upgrade my rating. We have many other Wolfgang Puck Products. Really like his pots, pans, and knives.

I''ve had other bread makers and can honestly say this one is absolutely the best! The secret is the double-blade system that mixes and kneads thoroughly. I've made several breads from the Marian Getz book as well as other recipes. All came out perfectly. One thing I do is remove the dough just as it goes into the final rise cycle, remove the blades, reshape the bread and return it to the pan. This way, I get a loaf with only two tiny holes in the bottom. I've made breads by hand over the years and am not afraid to work the dough, but this machine makes it so easy for a single loaf. There's nothing like the aroma of freshly baked bread in a house, except for eating it!

to make recipes that came with the machine. Only sporadically worked. Many times the dough appreared to bake as two misshapen separate loaves [only value was croutons or bread pudding bait]. Was just about to send it back when up comes, on the next WP presentation the dual bread pan. Ordered it and it came in and after 6 weeks of several more attempts still can't get one of the paddles out. Now this is obscene since we can only make 1 small loaf with this pan since you simply fill the unusable side with water during the cycle. I know I should have sent it back the first try, but after reading the constant mentioning of the same type problems I've encountered, it's GOING BACK!
Tonight was the last straw; tried a brioche recipe from an online site and the final result resembled a blast from a nuclear weapon. And do NOT tell me the yeast was bad or the water the wrong temperature, it was just as called for in the recipe. WPs cookware is typically 1st class, but electronics suck.

I don't understand the bad reviews either. Within minutes of receiving, I had it going and a few hours later my husband and I were enjoying freshly baked, delicious bread. It came out exactly the way Wolfgang's did during the demo. Cleanup was a breeze too. I missed out on the mini pans...had them in my cart but they disappeared during checkout and then were showing as sold out. Wolfgang, please bring the mini pans back or at least make them available through your customer service, and if it's not too much to ask, please do this in time for Thanksgiving!

WAS VERY WORRIED ABOUT THE BAD REVIEWS .FEARFUL IF I DIDNT USE THE RIGHT WATER TEMPERATURE OR SIFT THE BREAD FLOUR MY RESULTS WOULD BE DOOMED. HOWEVER, I JUMPED RIGHT IN AND MADE A LOAF OF THE EASY CHEEZY BREAD AND CROSSED MY FINGERS. BREAD CAME OUT AMAZING AND THE KIDS LOVED IT. I DID NOT WORRY ABOUT WATER TEMP, USED ROOM TEMP BOTTLED WATER BUT I DID SIFT THE FLOUR, I HAVE MADE THE SOUR CREAM COFFEE CAKE AND THE BANANA BREAD, BOTH WERE VERY YUMMY AND SUPER MOIST.

I received the Wolfgang "bread machine" last week and three boxes of bread mix a couple of days later and have made the best loaves of bread ever. This takes the guessing and hard work out of making healthy bread and is my new reason for eating healthier. As is customary for me; I plan to make and give bread/cakes as gifts for Christmas this year. Thank you for developing this cost-effective, easy, and healthy way of making bread.

First breadmaker Ive used and I maybe expected more. I tried to make 2 breads, 1st was horrible, the second was ok. I decided to return it feeling that I have more control over my baking if I do it the old fashion way.

I ordered Wolfagang's bread machine and I went out and bought wheat gluten, and wheat and white bread flours and yeast, all brand new and with good expiration dates, several months or years away. Made bread 3 times in this machine, The first wheat loaf came out like a hockey puck, did not rise, the second loaf, butter crust white bread, never even baked, machine kept stopping and starting and after 3 hours I was left with a doughy mess in the pan, the 3rd loaf, white bread, again came out like a hockey puck about 2" high.. I carefully measured ll the ingredients and added in the right order, and programmed the machine as instructed using Wolfgangs's recipes,,,,,,whatever they show on TV is not TRUE, this makes lousy inedible bread,,,,,, back it goes and I am done with HSN and Wolfgang's products.forever!!!!!

I am not a pastry chef, not even a good baker like my Grandmother was. However, for the folks like me who are not very talented, this machine is the best. This is my 3rd bread machine, the others I only used once or twice. But, I use this machine weekly. The loaves come out looking like a normal loaf ought to look. I have not had all the problems that others have had, I did loose a paddle once but caught it in time. I find the machine easy to use and the recipe book by Mariane Getz is a must have.

I now have every item Wolf makes as I just received the bread machine today. I made the White Bread Recipe from within the enclosed booklet. It came out FANTASTIC!!! Wolf's machine made the best white bread we have ever tasted. The bottom line is, DO NOT LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVITY...IT IS UNTRUE...THIS MACHINE & ALL OF HIS PRODUCTS ARE THE ROLLS ROYCE OF APPLIANCES, COOKWARE, CUTLERY ETC.... if anyone did not make a good loaf of bread, than you did not read and follow the directions properly. As with all his products, it is very user friendly. This is a very simple machine to use if you know how to follow a recipe. Order this machine...you will LOVE IT TOO.

I've had several brands in the past, but this is the best so far. My only criticism is that I have difficulty with the blades. They will slip off during mixing occasionally. It has happened twice. I didn't catch it the first time soon enough and it ruined the mixture. The 2nd time I caught it in time. It hasn't happened again and I didn't note if it was the same blade each time. Otherwise, it is excellent as far as simplicity, mixing and baking.

I admit, I am a huge fan of Wolfgang's products ever sense we got his pan set (LOVE LOVE LOVE). But I was still a little leary about buying the breadmaker....I have had one in the past and was disappointed. However, I was so glad to discover that this is the best breadmaker EVER!!! Buy this...you will not be disappointed! The receipe book is great, and I have made all kinds of breads. Tip: make sure you buy some vital wheat gluten before you get the breadmaker...it is used in a lot of the receipes, and I had to order it online because we can't find it in our area.

I too had a bad experience with this bread machine & with customer service. When I received the product & installed the paddles, they would not fit onto the posts in the pan properly so when in use they come off. Called customer service & the guy insisted he knew it was the pan not the paddles - he would replace for $12 s&h. When I explained that I was not confident that it was the pan & would like both parts replaced he no - that I would have to purchase the extra parts. What happens if the paddles don't fit that pan either? Wouldn't it make more sense to send both components and making sure that they fit together the way they are supposed to?? This machine was defective when I got it and the fact that the company will not make it right - at their expense means they do not stand bhind their products. i won't be purchasing from them again and will be sure to tell my friends and family. Awful customer service.

I bought this over a year ago and just love i t. I am not a baker, yet my bread turns out like bakery fresh bread. I have been making a Portuguese Sweet Bread, which is not so sweet that you can't eat it with a meal or make a sandwich with it. When I pulled the bread out the last time I had guests, they were all raving about it, with that and the wonderful meal I prepared, they left totally happy and so was I. The only thing I don't care about it is if you leave the paddles in, you get 2 large holes. If I remember, I pull them out after the last kneading and the holes are tiny. Love this, thanks Wolfgang.
