At least in my yard this does not light up at night--maybe I put it in an area that does not get direct sun, but now that it has been drilled into concrete, I just can't bring myself to go through more drilling. Still the lamp and the post look nice during the day.

I really like the look and performance of the lamp for the location it iwas choosen for.....too bad the on/off switch broke the second time I used it....i don't have the time or desire to fix it or deal with warranty hassles....more hard earned money wasted on a typical import. wouldn't recommend...

I ordered 2 of these to go on my deck . I needed enough light there so I could see what I was doing at night watering my flowers, etc. I have VERY hateful neighbors that complain about light, period. So these work PRRRRRREFECT! Please someone send theirs back. I want 2 more for my other decks. They're GORGEOUS!!! And I've seen these almost exactly the same, for $500 each.

Great! I had a small area off to the left before you come up our knoll to our home and got one of those $34 two-part fences and put together and got a hydrangea on one side and an azalea on the other and put the lamp post in the middle. I added some coneflowers and other flowers around the fence and put a butterfly bush in the front middle of the lamp post. Everything worked out well and it lights nicely.

I can not suggest buying this item. The switch was broke when I received it. I was able to rig it so it will go to an on position. It is heavy and shipping is expensive to return. NOT GOOD

I purchased this to put on our deck up at the lake. Everyone has commented how nice it looks. The light itself isn't super bright, but casts a nice glow. I'm considering buying another to put on the other end of the deck.

Don't know what kind of tape measure the previous customer used to measure her light, but the light is over 7 feet if you READ it says 87" that would not be 8 foot. Anyway great looking light with a very nice glow for any area, No it is not a spot light if you want that purchase one. This is a very rich looking light post I was very pleasanty surprised and very satisfied. Most lights of this style are upper $200 to $400, GOOD BUY, you won't be dissapointed.

The lamp post is ok in real life. It's definitely not over 8 feet like the host mentioned. It's smaller than I imagined. When I got it, the on/off wasn't working. I had to open it up. As it turned out, the plastic part that encased the on/off was broken. I had to superglue it together, and it was fixed. The light is alright, not very bright but still sufficient. An OK purchase.
