Thermolon™ is made without PFOA. It is made to be eco-friendly for our environment. PTFE is a chemical found in traditional nonstick coatings. It can begin to degrade at temperatures over 500 degrees, which is why the instructions on traditional nonstick pans generally advise to use them only on low and medium heat. You can use Thermolon™ on low and medium heat like traditional nonstick, but unlike traditional nonstick coated pans, GreenPan with Thermolon™ is also made to be used at high heat (above 500 degrees) for something you would normally use stainless steel or cast iron cookware for. I've read some raving reviews about how great the clean-up is for this pan. I have had no such luck. Even after scrubbing for a half hour, I still couldn't remove the black dots that formed in the NON STICK THERMOLON coating. Also, the coating is discolored around the rolled edge. Even though I can still broil in the pan, I like my pots to look prisitne, like new.
Why do some people have this problem and others not?
Get back to the drawing board, Joy!
I'm very disappointed in this product.

I purchased this broiler pan a while ago. I have a wonderful outdoor grill so I rarely use the broiler pan. The reason that I purchased the pan in the first place was for the ease of clean up. The first time I used the pan, I followed all the directions for "seasoning" the pan and it worked wonderfully. I just used it for the second time and was very disappointed with the relults. Not only did the pan not clean up as it did the first time, I had to soak it for hours just to be able to get it clean. The drip pan was a breeze to clean. Maybe they should make the top grate out of this material. The top grate was a real pain. I have a few other green pans that I have not had this problem with. But, the jury is still out as to whether or not I will be buying anymore. My stainless is looking better and better the more "non-stick" I buy.

THIS IS SO GREAT. EASY CLEAN UP FROM BROILER, NEVER HEARD OF, BUT THIS PAN IS THE TRUE THING.
I NOW USE MY BROILED MUCH MORE SINCE GETTING THIS GREENPAN BROILER PAN.

when I saw the broiler pan that wipes clean with a papertowel I was sold. Unfortunately it doesn't. From the first time I used it I got baked on grease just like any other and now I cover it with foil like all the rest. I scrubbed and scoured to try and clean it without success and then I gave up! I bought it 8 mo. ago so I think I'm stuck with a very expensive broiler pan thats no differant than the others.

We bought the broiler pan and tested it with some home made hamburgers. They came out fantastic. About 3 days later we decided to make more burgers and I couldn't find the broiler pan. It turns out that I had left the broiler pan, with all that broiled on beef and grease in the oven for 3 days.
I put the pan under some warm running water and using a soft, non-abrasive kitchen sponge, I started to wipe away the grease from the pan. All that stuck on grease just came right off. No heavy scrubbing, no sore hands and muscles. The entire pan looked out of the box new in less than 5 minutes.
Needless to say we have since converted all our regular pots and pans to Green Pan.

Before purchasing the GreenPan broiler pan, I didn't even think of broiling food because my old pan was terrible. This is an excellent pan- nothing sticks! The food just slides right off and I know it can handle the heat! Easy clean-up and a healthy way to prepare food.

everything it's claimed to be. ribs broiled, wiped off. real sticky stuff took some ecouragement in the corners, but NOTHING like what i used todo. I bought 2 more for gifts.

GreenPan™ Broiler Pan with Thermolon -cleaned up beautifully the first and second times of use age, and now is a nightmare to clean. The on air presentation is a scam in my opinion. I'm disappointed in HSN for allowing this product to air.

I do like this set but the size and weight are very awkward for me...
It is the shape of a wok which may come in handy one day but I had hoped to have a better - flatter surface area...
I have not had any problems with the surface as I have seen others state that theirs scratched...
I do wish that HSN would have stated the issues with the care of the pan when they were demonstrating it though... I felt misled when I received it and read that you need to use special utensils and special care as the surface IS ceramic and can scratch...
I am not sure that I would have purchased this pan had I known that I would have to use special care not only in the utensils, but in washing and storing it...
As I said - the size is awkward and that also makes an extra challenge in storing it in a small kitchen - especially since I don't dare nest other pans inside of it in fear that they will scratch the surface...

After just using approximately 6-8 times, I now have to use a cleaning product made to clean off ceramic top stoves to cut the baked on mess off. It is the only thing that will clean off the stuff left after broiling. At first the non-stick worked beautiful but now I have to scrub just like I did with the one that came with the stove! I also am having the same problem with my 8 inch skillets and the 13 inch skillet. Everything sticks in them now. The items that I have purchased in this product line are J-U-N-K! DO NOT BUY! I am replacing with other nonsticks from another company. I am SUPER DISAPPOINTED!!

I just received this broiler pan and used it already and it is just as nice as the 2 skillets and 3 quart pot that I already own. I read some of the reviews that were not so good but if you just wipe over the pan with a little olive oil or other kind, the pan comes clean just as advertised. I will continue getting these pans as my finances allow. They are really great.

I bought the broiler pan to use it on a grill which was mentioned many times in the demo. I heard over and over how nothing can stick to this pan so I ordered it. The instructions are very specific in noting that no nonstick spray should be used.
I grilled chicken which had marinate on it. ALL the marinate stuck to the broiler pan. I soaked the pan--nothing. I've scrubbed the pan and with all my hard elbow grease the pan is a disaster. It will NEVER come clean. $$$$=NO!!

I've had mine about 1 1/2 months and use it almost every other day. Couldn't believe how easy it cleans. Of course I had to try wiping it with a paper towel, got so excited at how easily everything came off I started calling my girlfriends and telling them about it. I've used it so many times and it still comes clean beautifully. It is well worth the money.

I have many green pans, this is my favorite. No more soaking & scrubbing broilers you get w/oven. People please understand that "stuff" doesn't come off ANYTHING unless you at least scrub a little-get real-it's not magic. I love to cook & green pans not only clean great but food cooks so much better & browns so nice. Have broiled steaks, chicken, kabobs & fish so far & all were super. I wouldn't trade my greenies for any other pan on the market-Thanks Joy & Todd from a loyal Green Pan Fan!

I broiled pork chops on this pan and was actually looking forward to the cleanup to see how well it worked and I was a little dissapointed. It done pretty well but doesn't come completely clean. Some baked on spots will not come off even with hard scrubbing.

I purchased this item in March of 2009 - whas great the first 3 times I used it and then it would not come clean. I called the manufacturer and complained - they told me they would send a replacement - hre it is July - no replacement.

Bacon never cooked so easy!! I have used this multiple times, and each time it's a dream to clean... the food just jumps off

I'm glad I didn't read the reviews either, because I love it! I've only used it twice and so far it is great, wipes clean with a paper towel. If it starts to stick within 30 days, back it will go but go far so good.

I decided to take a chance on the pan despite neg reviews bc some ppl really seemed to like it, also bc I didn't own a broiler pan. It's fabulous. However,it will not come clean with a paper towel. Maybe the first couple times it did but it starts to lose some of its non-stick. I clean it with an SOS pad and it comes perfectly clean like new. I always wipe the surface with a coat of olive oil before I use it. I think this helps the food not to get "stuck" to it and makes for easier clean up.
