I can't believe I waited so long to buy these. If on high speed they are a little loud. I save this speed for when I leave to clean the room.I now have 4 and will never live with out one again.I have a dog, cat and a bird.The Hunter Air Purifier makes my house so fresh an clean smelling. The air is great.Since I purchased mine several family members have also order one for their home. When they come in they really notice a big difference in my home.

I put it in my bedroom, closed the door for hours.It smelled like plastic and the air was not fresh like others I have bought. Their is no easy return label because it was $ 29.95 ups to return it!!! It has been weeks and I havent recieved credit! Good thing I bought insurance!!!

NOT ONLY DO THEY GIVE ME FRESH CLEAN AIR TO BREATHE MY HOUSE SMELLS NICER CONSIDERING I AM A SMOKER IT JST SUCK IT ALL IN. THE NOISE IS A BIT LOUD BUT BEARABLE.

I have one of these in my bedroom and it is about 5 feet from my head. I am a very very light sleeper but these do not keep me awake and do not wake me up. In fact, if it were not for the light I would not know they were running. THESE ARE GREAT.

if one of these only hums, then it must not be working! even on night setting these units are very loud! put one in my bedroom because i need to clean the air from my dog taking up the bed, but to much noise. purchased 2, both will be going back. will purchase 2 more of the ionic pro's, they are whisper quiet!

Appears to be efficient in cleaning the air, but it is so loud that I was unable to sleep, and it was purchased primarily for the bedroom. Also, the cost of the prefilter was much more than I expected. $88. each year. Returned.

Theses arrived a few days ago & I must say they are not loud. My fridge & ac/heating unit are louder. I kind of hoped they were, since I run a fan at night for white noise. I can hardly hear these. It's a vey slight hum. As far as how well they work, I will have to wait to see. My husband has the allergies & is out of state now.

I purchase 6 of Hunter PermalLife Air Purifiers, they are working wonderful! I do not understand why everyone is upset about the noise, they are NOT very loud!I can't even hear them on the sleep mode and even on high it's not a problem! I've had mine on turbo for the first few days, and couldn't believe how much dust, dog hair, etc, was collected in the filter! When the purifiers go on sale again , I will be purchasing 4 more for each room in my home!

This is a wonderful product! I do not understand all the negative reviews about it blowing cold air. It is not a heater. If the air in your house is cold that is what is going to come out of it. It is not sold as a heater! The product works great, You can barely even hear it on the night mode.

I like how these purifers work they really do elimenate most ordors and my house smell clean and fresh. But...the on-air description stated these were very quiet but I don't agree. I find them to be quite loud and I even have shut them off just so I can sleep.

First off, the purifiera blow out cold air. I just did not expect this. I was expecting fresh air but not cold. Given that it's winter, it's probably a bigger issue for me than most. Second, it's louder than expected, even on sleep mode, so my family didn't want it in their bedrooms. And, third, the purifiers do not qualify for EZ return so if you don't like it, you have to pay to ship it back and it's very expensive! Not worth the money.

I really needed some fresh air in my home. The air is cold that comes out but I just turn down the speed or turn up the heat. I live in Minnesota,and I know what cold is. I am very satisfied with these, but people have to remember that they are not going to be effective in a huge home, I had to put both in my living room, dining room. When I first got them I put one in the bedroom and the other in living room, having both in this big space works much better. I am happy with my purchase.

Received 1/6. DR unit running 24/7 on the 2nd lowest setting sounds like my hair dryer. BR unit on sleep mode sounds like air conditioner on low. BR unit cannot stay on because it blows out cold air. With 6 degrees outside, winter air conditioning is not needed. Filter checks showed some accumulation but the noise is driving me nuts!! Sending back.

I am really enjoying my air purifiers. After 2 weeks my white filters were already grey. My house is 85 yrs old and somewhere in its history it has had a smoker in it. These have eliminated that smell so I may just have to order 2 more so everyone has one in their bedroom. I don't think they are that noisy. For me they are worth it to keep my family healthy.

I am very pleased with the purifiers. I live in an apt & have to deal with tenants cigarette smell/food odors. The purifiers get rid of the odors completely. Noise is not a problem. On low it's a hum & the turbo setting is good at night for blocking out noise. They are designed for small areas so you can't expect them to work miracles in a large home. There's a slight smell of plastic when ionizer is first turned on, but don't notice it after a few minutes. Overall, I'm happy with the results.

I ordered these because I was impressed with the demonstrations on HSN. However, having had them running for two weeks I see no difference in the Air quality in my home. At a minimum I expected them to disperse cooking ordors quickly, but the do not. As far as I am concerned two regular fans will work as well or better. Finally as they are not eligible for easy returns they were very expensive to ship back. Overall I consider this purchase a waste of my time and money.

I cant understand the negative reviews on this product! I absolutely love mine and couldn't be happier with it. The minute that I cut them on,I could smell the difference in the air! I dont find them to be noisy at all! If the setting is too loud then you can set it to the sleep mode which is a lower fan option. It is stated in the HSN Airing that the black carbon filter can be vacuumed as well. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking to better the air quality in their home!

I bought these for my daughter, because she has allergies and the gentlemen representing this product said within 2 days you should see a difference or send them back...no difference, so that is exactly what I'm going to do,also very noisy.
