I got the gateway 15.4 laptop this is by far the worst computer I have ever owned. I tryed to pull up the instructions on it and it said CAN NOT FIND FILE. I had ms word and then it said I had to reinstall it. Well it came instaled with the computer so there is no way to in install it. I called Gateway and they said that it was still under warenty. They gave me a # to call I called and they said tec help would be $2.50 per min. I am vary suprised that HSN carries Junk like this.

Gateway customer service is terrible, my computer cd/dvd door stop working automatically, and trying to get service about this problem for me has been impossible.
I will never buy another Gateway Computer again.
The computer, except the cd drive door runs perfect.
My computer is still under warranty and I can't get in touch with no one, just another answering service, which is another computer talking to me.

I like the laptop but I didn;t get the battery life as advertised and the main reason I ordered this item. I can only use it for about an hour before it needs to be charged; not five hours as advertised. I also have had a problem trying to order a new battery from the Gateway Website.

I have had several Gateway computers over the years with no problems. This laptop has been a constant source of frustration. Shortly after I received it in February, the screen would just go blank for no reason even while I was typing or if I adjusted the angle of the monitor. I have had issues with it booting up and today it will not boot up at all. I will call customer service again although I can hardly understand them and they have been no help in the past. Wish I had sent it back.

The computer was wonderful and doing great. It has a lot of features and my son was in love with it, and then all of sudden it started freezing up and it got a lot of viruses in it. Needless to say I called gateway to see what they could do and then I was told I had to pay for a recovery disk, why didn' t this come with the computer.

Ordered when it was a TSV. At first no problems, but then I started having trouble connecting to our wireless. Fine if I was on the same level of the house as the modem, but downstairs/outside I'd lose it. Did online tech support....was told it was my ISP. I kept trying but the problem continued so I emailed HSN for the "dedicated" HSN customer number (a joke!) and talked to someone in India who couldn't figure it out and fell back on "You did online support, they said it was your ISP....it's your ISP". I said that obviously she didn't want to help and it was the last Gateway I'd buy. Both times I told support that there was NO problem with a 3-yr old Dell sitting right beside the Gateway...."It's your ISP". So, off to Google. Most fixes were over my head but I decided to try one....yes, it was as easy as UPDATING THE WIRELESS DRIVER!!!! No problems with it since. Like the computer, but forget Gateway until they bring their tech support back to the US!!!!!

I've had nothing but problems with this laptop since I bought it in February. I have to reboot it several times before it comes on. Continually I will have to start it in safeboot first, then log out and restart it normally. The best thing about this laptop is the color ~ red! And it takes too long to come on. I have a Dell that is 4 years old with 1gb ram and it's twice as fast loading as this Gateway. This is no exaggeration. HSN doesn't help, they only refer me to Gateway. Gateway takes me through a bunch of steps and the entire time telling me what a problem these laptops are and that they were discontinued. I'm so frustrated! I should have returned it right away, instead of hoping the issues would go away.

I bought this as a TSV earlier this year. My daughter-in-law did also. I loved it so much, I bought 1 for my daughter after the special was over. None of us have had ANY problems with ours. I've bought 2 desktops and 2 laptops for my own personal use over the years, all from Gateway. The fan when out on 1 but the company replaced it with no problem. This is great! I've been storing a lot of pics and music on my laptop lately and it doesn't slow it down. I would recommend it to everyone.

I actually purchased this laptop in February - however I did open the box until July 14. I was able to setup the Norton Virus and 60 days Microsoft Office Suite trial however; when I tried to install the updates the system hard drive crash. I called customer service who told be to press F8(nothing); and then press F10(nothing) to restore the hard drive. I was then told to logon to Gateway and purchase the disk to reload the software. I will never purchase another Gateway again.

I have purchased 4 Gateways computer in the 4 years the computers are fine, but the Customer Service is not very helpful. You might want to explain the warranty better on TV because any problem we have had they want to charge extra for the service. I do understand the other customers negative comments. If you could fix the customer service everything else would be fine.

I purchased this computer after seeing on HSN. Looked like a very cool computer w/some neat options. Purchased 4mths ago, I am also having issues w/drivers. Every time I get on internet, I have to go through the diagnostic problems where it will scan my computer and fix the problem. Is a real pain and inconvience. Usually I just go and get on my desktop in the other room. Very, very disappointed. Will stick w/DELL.

I'm sorry there are so many negatives on this. I got this on the TSV. Set up was easy and Tech was very nice, although hard to understand, I needed Tech because I did not know how to work the wireless. My computer works great and I couldn't be happier.

I was so excited with this computer when I got it as the TSV. The first few months was working perfectly. Unfortunately, lately the wireless doesn’t work. I am sitting next to the router and it says “windows can’t find any wireless network in range of this computer”, very frustrating. The battery last less than an hour. I’ll never again buy a Gateway.

Please, don't buy this product!! Mine never worked. I had to have mine repaired as soon as I received it, keys stuck and customer service at Gateway was a nightmare & their service is outsourced to India. They would not honor their warranty. If it had not been for HSN, I would have been stuck with this. This is my 1st. review and I am only writing because of the terrible product & service. I will never buy another gateway/Acer product. Please, don't buy this product!!!!!

I HAD LESS THAN 10 HOURS ON THIS COMPUTER AND THE SCREEN MESSED UP. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM GATEWAY. VERY RUDE!! HSN NEEDS TO ADDRESS THESE PROBLEMS WITH GATEWAY. I WILL NEVER EVER PURCHASE A GATEWAY COMPUTER. I DON'T CARE IF IT WAS 1 PENNY. STAY AWAY FROM GATEWAY. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THE MIGHTY DOLLAR.

Love my laptop-hate the tech support! This purchase was based on the "designated HSN only tech number"It doesn't exist.I waited 30 minutes on hold & was greeted by a surly tech answering hardware only questions. Gateway's on air rep said tech support would walk you though the set-up process & answer any questions. Sadly, that did not happen. I will never buy another Gateway product. Shame on Gateway & HSN for the false advertising. Next laptop will be a HP... which has great tech support.

I too bought the Red one when it was TSV. Called my daughter to tell her about it and she had already ordered the Blue one. This is my first laptop and my first Gateway product and I am well pleased and thanks to Flexpay I was able to obtain it! The only problem is the "O" key sticks, but that is minor! Thanks HSN for offering Flexpay!

I love this laptop!! It is a pleasure to use your computer when it is this laptop. All of the features are wonderful and it is
a very durable computer. Laptops get carried around, thrown in bags, and many times get treated like luggage at an airport, this computer looks like the day I bought it. This is my third.

Couldn't get the DVD player to work, the support desk told me if I needed help I would have to pay for it. also the touch pad way to sensitive, needs a mouse to work effectively. going back
