The ring was so bad it appeared as if someone scratched the stone and you could not see any styrations of rutulated quartz. I was extremely disspointed. I wonder why this was made by Studio Barse. If I could have rated lower I would have. HSN what is going on with the quality assurance? This ring should not still being sold by HSN or Studio Barse.

My ring is nearly clear with a gold tint. The gold needles/rutiles slant across the two upper corners of the stone. Indoors, I thought it seemed dull (considered returning)... but in natural light the ring sparkles with tiny gold flecks & flashes of snowflake-like inclusions, just like a shaken snowglobe.
Each stone is unique, but I wish my ring's rutiles were in the center of the stone.

I have several rutilated quartz pieces which are clear so you can see the rutiles. This one, however, if so cloudy and oddly shaped. It looks like a rock from my yard. It is going back.

I ordered this ring...twice. The first one came and looked like one cloudy plain mess of a stone. No needle formations~it looked plastic.
I am very familiar wiith this quartz as I make jewelry with beads and wire wrap and have used it before. So I was expecting some gold striations. Well I got the piece mother nature forgot to finish!
The second ring is awesome. Beautiful, transparancy over the stone with several groups of golden needles. Now I just have to send back the first one for a credit. It cost more to do it this way, but I figured if I kept the 1st ring, I would have something to compare it to.

This was a huge disappointment. Very ugly stone. Cloudy with a large black spot on the side. Going back immediately.

Ring is beautifully made & very solid. Cut is gorgeous. Love rutilated quartz, only problem I have is that the quartz is so murky and dark-it doesn't resemble other RQ pieces I have. Really wish it was clear like picture but it is not. I know natural stones have inclusions, etc. But think they should have passed on this particular stone! Love the ring-feel, fit, but trying to decide whether to return it in hopes of getting brighter clearer piece. I think I got the other reviewers return :(

at first I thought the stone was too cloudy, then I wore it. YUMMY! The silver work is heavy and beautiful, complimenting this five sided stone. It is fascinating to look at. About a third of the stone is white quartz fading into clear. The gold strands meet in a beautiful sunburtst at the top of the ring. It is everything an exotic gemstone should be, I have almost paid $700 for a clear rutilated quartz ring made entirely of the stone, but this is so much more interesting to the eye.

I am a collector of rutilated quartz jewelry and this is an excellent ring. The stone was excellent quality. The sterling silver ring was perfect. I do not know what the other reviewer was expecting but there are no problmes with this ring! It is an excellent buy!

....without question, this is the worst piece of jewelry I've ever purchased. The "gemstone" and I use that word loosely, looks like something found in a backyard that no one would even pick up. It is murky and the golden threads I expected look more like scratches on the surface rather than within the stone. I have previously purchased several Barse items and they are beautiful; this, however, I couldn't wait to put it back in the box and prepare it for its return trip to HSN.
