A Colossal Let Down

I was looking forward to this necklace so much. It looked so beautiful on TV. What a huge difference between the image and the reality! Just three beads in the entire necklace look acceptable in color. The rest are extensively mottled and lacking in royal blue color. Some are navy blue and dull, others are white with a blue sprinkle here and there. The workmanship is not any better. I could find better lapis at the local flea market. What a disappointment!

My necklace looks nothing like the one shown on air or even the picture above; the rondelles range from grey to beige to white dots and muddy blue. I have 3 beads that look like the real thing, the rest are mottled. Not much of a polish either. I learned a lesson: read the customers reviews before ordering!

I was so excited about ordering this necklace but when it arrived I knew immediately that I had to return it:the stringing was very poorly done looking like a bead was missing,the 5 front beads were wonderful but the rest were not at all consistent and the necklace did not measure 18". I am sorry to write this but needed to tell Jay of this.I am such a fan of his work and selections.

I am a gem lover and very knowledgeable about stones & jewlery. I had to return this beautiful necklace, because the center stone, the queen of the entire piece was bruised and white all around the edges. Needless to day, I was very disappointed. I have ordered some 14mm & 12mm lapis strands from China and I''ll make my own stunning piece.

The blue lapis varied too much from one bead to another, unlike the one shown on TV. So, it is going back. I''m disappointed.

The colors in my necklace were good overall, some variations of oourse, but quite acceptable. However, the finish/polish of the beads/rondelles varied from highly polished (nice) to no polish (all the luster and shine of dried Play-doh). Finding this strange, I came back to read other reviews, and learned to check for cracks, which one round bead had (full circumference crack). Quality control seems to be severely lacking on this product.

I was hoping other reviewers would be wrong and my necklace would be just like the one on TV, but I wasn''t so lucky. Like others, the lapis pieces are dotted with white and gray spots. I have other lapis pieces and mine finds, but this did not compare. But, I still love Jay King.

I was delighted when I opened up the box to see my Lapis necklace. Where on earth will anyone get this much lapis for such a low price.I used my polishing cloth to make this beauty shine.Thanks Jay I love it.

I ordered 2 of these when this necklace was the Today''s Special. They were both a beautiful medium navy blue with bits of gold in them and the size was very impressive. The colors will vary because they are natural so if you don''t like the color you received, you might want to try again. I think they are both beautiful and an excellent value! |
