Very heavy overall; handle heavy and awkward with attachments. Wand clicks into place but doesn''t always stay there on first try. Cord too short and Dyson says DO NOT use extensions. Dust that clings to filter falls onto floor when emptying. Doesn''t clean any better than my Oreck or my Rainbow (my favorite--I''ve had it for 20+ years). Overall, sorry I spent the money. Consumer Reports doesn''t recommend Dyson either.
Great Vacuum

I really liked the way this vacuum folds away as one system. My husband and I live in a small cabin and space is tight. The suction is great! Yes the cord is short, but I just kept using differnt closer outlets. I can live with that. The hose could be a little tougher, but then folding it for the compact storage might not work. I could not believe how much sand and dust it kept picking up. Thank you for offering flex pays as well which makes it affordable to own.

I love this vacuum. Lots of suction power. Yes the cord is short, but get an extention cord. Not heavy. I have always loved a canister vac. Glad Dyson made one. Thanks.

Like some of the others have said, cord too short. Yes it does have suction. I have ruined several rugs. Suction pulls on threads and will ruin your rug. Does not have any height adjustments. Would not pay this much money again.

Big on sex appeal lacking in the functionality department. Instructions are from the Obtuse School of Graphic Design. The power cord is too short. The switch should be on the handle. The bare floor attachment needs a re-design with the brushes within the suction area, incorporate the ball turning design and stow on-board. Dust DOES wind up in the air when you empty it. BUT… Three thumbs up for cleaning power. Sexy and HRG Sci-Fi. CONCLUSION: Wait for the next version.

This is my second Dyson and I love the first one. This is not as good. Although the suction is wonderful, the cord is too short, it is heavy for a canister vac, and the retractable wand does just that-retracts when you do not want it to! I would buy another Dyson but not this model-needs improvement.

I love this Vacuum its suction is fantastic!!!! Worth every penny. Not heavy and I love that I can turn the head on and off with my foot. I read the cord was short I just bought a 15 ft extension cord...problem solved. The hose does not seem filmsy to me, like anything you have to be careful of it folding I have had that problem before with my other cannisters..so its not an issue. It also works great on bare floors. My rug looked great because it lifted the pile again. LUV THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!

I love this vacuum!! It is well worth the money. I have heard nothing but great things about Dyson and now I know why. I agree with other reviews that the cord is a bit too short but I put a small extension cord on mine and it is not a problem. The suction power is great! The canister is awesome, no more bags. I do not know how I have managed without this vacuum all this time. I definitely recommend it.

I already own a purple Dyson Animal, which is also a fantastic machine. This canister does a great job, I am always amazed how much dust and hair it sucks out of my carpets. One big flaw is the fact that the weak plastic hose folds easily, like a garden hose, cutting off all suction. This problem really should be addressed, not acceptable for such a high-priced vacuum cleaner. Overall though I am happy with this machine and will certainly keep it. |
