read the instructions and no problem''s best part is the auto fill. the only thing in the oil box was oil. do not under stand why people had problems. its so easy like our fish here and this is the only way to fry thank you mr emeril for making life easy
Great Design Concept but........
There is a possibility that you will be the lucky recipient of one of the units with a design flaw, i.e. oil everywhere except where it is suppose to be. This needs to be re-engineered as the concept is great. What more could you ask for in a deep fat fryer? Oil automatically filters and goes into storage, the main unit detaches so you can soak it, has a cover, etc. I was so excited to receive this. 2 out of 3 times oil did not end up in storage, ended up on counter instead.
Did Leak But Not Anymore

Unless you are looking close the problem is really not very evident. The outer part of the machine that the frying vessel sits in was not square and had a bow in the front edge. What this did was to allow the frying vessel to sit further forward than it should. After making the outer part square and also bending the spring tang on the front of the frying vessel to assist in keeping the vessel pushed to the rear the fryer works as advertised.
Save your Money
A Rube-Goldberg contraption, that is guaranteed to dump at least a 1/4 gallon of oil every time you use it. The oil sump WILL dump oil on your counter top without question. My recommendation is to buy a Lodge cast iron pot, a good cooking thermometer and save your money!!
user error on leak - works great!

After reading the reviews I skeptically thought I''d give it a tray and I put a baking sheet under it for my first drain. Sure enough it leaked. After reviewing the instructions one more time with no clear answers, I reviewed the unit and found I hadn''t screwed the pour valve on tight and the oil just came out of the fryer and continued to the back of the unit where it leaked out some. Now I make sure the pour valve is tight and haven''t had a problem since.
Will be buying another one!!!

This is by far the BEST deep fryer ever and I am getting ready to buy one for our camper. If you read ALL of the directions before you use it and you use it as it tells you to then you will NOT have any problems!!! EXCELLENT ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well worth the money

This fryer is the best fryer my wife & I have ever used. As former restaurant managers, the quality of this fryer would easily compare to that of a commercial fryer. We have not experienced any leaks and the food is outstanding. As long as you do what the directions say and turn the dial to the drain position as soon as you are done frying you shouldn''t have any problems. Once the oil cools, it automatically will drain.
Best home fryer ever
This fryer is all that was said and then some.Fries great, easy clean up and NO LEAKS...Thanks HSN
WHAT LEAKS? WORKS GREAT! FOLLOW DIRECTIONS

This is got to be the best fryer ever. I used it 4 times the first week and I love it. I love the fact that clean up is so easy. The oil drains into its own self contained storage container. I leave the oil there until i am ready to fry again. Once your done frying, just turn the lever to drain and in about 2 hours, the oil is drained and filtered. Put everything (except heating element) in the dish washer and your done. Thanks HSN and Emeril for a great product at a great price.
Best non-commercial fryer
/ Pam, WY
This fryer does a great job. I have looked for one for 4 years that gets hot enough to be comparable to restaurant fryers, and was disappointed until this fryer. No leaking oil, no touching oil, no spilled oil. Do watch your chicken products however, for, like all fryers, it can cause an overflow if you overfill your basket. Start with less and work your way up. |
