This cameo is beautiful. I use to work in a fine jewelry store that sold cameos while in college and nothing compared to this piece. The wire on the back is fragile but it can support this piece. The carver was a master craftsman. I will treasure this piece forever and will someday pass it on. A family heirloom for sure.

When wearing this gorgous cameo to an upscale restaurant recently, the owner's wife came over and asked if she could bring the other employees over to see this work of art. When they came, her daughter said "you don't see cameo's that often, but I think you will be starting a trend"!! I wear it every day, and am just thrilled.
Lovely but not sturdy enough

I just received my cameo and yes, it is beautiful. But I was very surprised that the gold on the back is gold wire. I felt that closing that slide clasp a few times would break it. I would want something this expensive to be more sturdy, more capable of reasonable wear and tear. So unfortunately I must return it today.

I gasped when I looked at this and held it for the first time. The craftmanship is beyond compare. Clearly, highly skilled hands carefully carved this lovely little piece of heaven, for her face is that of an angel!! Museum quality!! And I get to wear it!! Thank you Italy!! Bravissimo!! |
