This does not work as easily as shown on TV. Unable to get a picture that is not washed out. Would not buy again, it is going back.

I did a Google search on the product prior to purchasing, and did see the requirements of Windows XP and USB 2.0. So, for me, install was no problem. However, I wanted it primarily for slide conversion. It washed out the colors so much, that areas of each image were white where there should have been color. Despite changing the options in the software, the images turned out basically the same. Quite disappointed.

If I could give zero stars I would. On TV neither the host nor the vender bother to tell you that if you have Vista operating system on your computer, the converter will not work. When I asked for a call tag to return it, the company refused. HSN please be honest with your buyers.

I recently purchased this item. I was so excited to be able to convert my negatives since the pictures were burned in a fire. It converts fine, but when I transfer negatives it takes about 30 to 40 minutes for 11 negatives. I have a Dell with XP. I have tried on laptop and desktop. Same problem. I emailed Photo Impressions 6. They stated not their problem. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks.

I was sorry to read so many bad reviews! My computer is a Dell with Windows XP so perhaps that is the difference. I had no trouble installing the driver or the software. . This scanner has worked beautifully and actually corrected for contrast, brightness and color accuracy before I transfered the image to the computer. I LOVE IT ! I''m sorry that so many other customers have had problems. It is probably the Vista system. Thanks again for a reasonably priced scanner.

I am also running Vista and initially had a problem getting this to work. Eventually I ran the "Program Compatability Wizard" on my computer and set both the driver and photo impression software to Windows XP. I also set it so that the program could only be run as an Administrator. Once I did this everything worked fine but the instructions are really very poor. The scanner itself works well although you may need an image editing program to touch-up the pictures.

Oh rats! Was very excited to order and receive. Failed on 2 different P4 computers running WP pro and XP Home...only common factor between the 2 was they both had USB 1.0 not 2.0. Have always found usb products to be backward compatable. Defective item or compatability issues? Don''t have time to find out. Got a more expensive but working replacement and this goes back. Wah_ wah!(sound effect)

I found it highly amusing that when this product was shown today on HSN, it was immediately followed by a presentation of a Gateway laptop computer - where the operating system is VISTA! How does HSN have the nerve to sell this product that can only run under Windows XP? Mine will definitely be returned. I am still desperately searching for a comparable product that will run on the newest OS. One more thing: the Vupoint Converter is very poorly and cheaply made.

Be aware that this only works on Windows XP...ONLY....mine has to go back because I only have the Vista..updated version of this item for Vista is supposed to come out at the end of June..I don''t believe the presentation stated this only works for XP.....otherwise this is a great idea if you have old slides, etc., which I do.. |
