The cooker is sleek and modern looking, but there is no way it could possibly cook 5 cups of medium grain rice - 4 cups almost reaches the top of the cooker. The rice also comes out on the sticky side with the med grain rice. I gave it 3 stars because it isn''t a 5 cup cooker and the consistency of the cooked rice is a little off. Just like another customer, my 1st cooker arrived with a big dent on the side, but HSN CS ordered a replacement & there was no shipping cost to send the 1st one back.

I really like this rice cooker. I''ve used it to make rice, macaroni chesse (delicious by the way) and even cakes. It works great. The cleanup is pretty easy too.

I have not had my brown rice turn out right one time. It seems like too much steam escapes too quickly. My rice is dry and undercooked. I used it today, finally added more water and turned it on cook again....now its like paste and I have to throw it out.

Sure, maybe you can use this to try other recipies but I bought it to make rice and great rice it makes. It''s easy, neat looking, priced very well. My only suggestion would be to put a bell to sound when the rice finishes and it goes to warm mode, but other than that, no complaints. My brown rice comes out as fluffy as my white rice. I tried making the rice pudding with brown rice and milk since I didn''t have heavy cream or white rice. The milk boiled over and seeped into the space between the nonstick bowl and the heating element. So now it is junk. I am going to purchase the cuisinart rice cooker next--I believe the glass lid will be a better seal than this piece of plastic made in china junk. It''s not worth $25.00 in my opinion.

i-love-love this product-but i would not call it a rice-cooker because it does so much more..i have sent this also to my children in vermont as they have 5 children..they also love-love this item..wish i would have-had this when my children were young...it''s defintely a must-have for a small family or a large family..thank-you wolfgang .

The first time I used this product,I did sausage and kraut. It took 3 hours to cook and had to add liquid many times. The finished product was dry and the potatoes were not done. The 2nd time I did macaroni and cheese. Again, dry and tastless,even after adding more milk and some butter. It is a peice of garbage and that is where it is right now. In the garbage. Do not buy.

Okay, girls and guys. The boilover thing happens for two reasons: The loose top lid has to be inserted up under the gasket to seal the pot. When making rice pudding: the directions clearly state: add liquids and such to the cooked rice, place on high for 10 minutes (!!!!!!!!!) then turn to low for (as I recall) 30 minutes. I did both things wrong several times and cleaned up...got mad and finally truly read the directions. My last batch was super!

This rice steamer is a dream come true!!!! The result is professional, restaurant grade rice and is so easy to prepare at a most affordable price. The clean up is a snap, I don''t know how I ever got along without this product!!! I have recommended it to everyone!

WHEN I RECEIVE THE RICE COOKER WITH THE COOKBOOK I LOVED IT AND THE RECIPE BOOK, THEY WERE DELICIOUS........UNTIL............AFTER ABOUT 6 TIMES USING IT , IT QUIT WORKING.......WON''T COOK FOOD, EVEN IF YOU LET IT COOK ALL NIGHT. I WOULD LIKE ANOTHER ONE, BUT AFRAID THIS ONE TOO WILL STOP WORKING |
